Canadian Brass co-founder and tuba master, Dr. CC "Chuck" Daellenbach was recently appointed to the Order of Canada, that country's highest civilian honor. On Dec. 26, the Governor General of Canada announced this appointment, recognizing Daellenbach lifelong works as Canadian Brass's co-founder and his critical role as a performer, mentor and entrepreneur.
On Friday, Jan. 30, the Hill County welcomes the Canadian Brass as part of the Boerne Performing Arts series. Tickets still are available at www.BoernePerformingArts.com or by calling 830-331-9079. Showtime is 7:30 pm at Boerne's state-of-the-art Champion Auditorium, 201 Charger Boulevard. Adult tickets range in price from $30 to $60 with student tickets just $20.
One of the best things that can be said of Canadian Brass is that it's a group for everybody and every musical taste. Not only do these five exceptional musicians play from their extensive classical repertoire, but they delve into jazz, contemporary concert music and popular songs, as well. And, of course, they have created their own musical world by transcribing, arranging and commissioning more than 200 works.
The Canadian Brass has developed such a unique character and rapport with audiences that many other ensembles have emulated them. The members of Canadian Brass are masters of concert presentations - from classical concerts to music served up with lively dialogue and theatrical effects. No matter what the style, the music is central and performed with utmost dedication and excellence.
Local sponsors of Boerne Performing Arts include Authentic Custom Homes, Boerne Convention and Visitors Bureau, Frost, Hearts' Home Acoustics and Hill Country Memorial-Boerne.
With four decades under their belts, Canadian Brass continues to thrill audiences around the world - and they're not letting up anytime soon! Visit www.CanadianBrass.com for more detailed information about these musical superstars.
