January is National Blood Donor Month

Everyday, the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center (STBTC) strives to provide excellent customer service and fulfill the community's blood needs.
Throughout this month, STBTC staff will join in a nationwide effort to thank blood donors. As National Blood Donor Month, January becomes a special time to renew STBTC's commitment to donors, community and blood-product recipients.
All eligible donors are encourage to step into a friendly neighborhood donor room or participate in a mobile blood drive as often as possible in 2015. "Together we can deliver hope to patients and their families," said a spokesman for STBTC.
The next blood drive in Bandera will take place from 11 am to 3:15 pm, Saturday, Jan. 31, at Grace Lutheran Church on Highway 16 North.
Donors must present identification. Anyone who is 16 years old and weighing at least 120 pounds with a parental consent form, or those at least 17 years old, weighing at least 110 pounds and in good general health may donate blood.
