Children's Discovery Hike at HCSNA

Contributed

"Life's Better Outside" has become the credo of Texas Parks and Wildlife.
Prove this to yourself and your kids at Hill Country State Natural Area, a camping, hiking, horseback riding and bike riding facility, located south of Bandera. Parents and grandparents and their children are invited to hike and discover nature with Ranger Leanne Beauxbeannes at 1 pm, Saturday, Jan 17.
Make a New Year's resolution to get children outdoors more often for some fresh air, exercise and old-fashioned fun. Enjoy a guided nature hike with your kids, grandkids or even a neighbor's kids. Let them discover the joy of being out on the trail and discovering nature close-up.
The ranger will provide on-the-trail activities that will enhance everyone's observation skills at the beautiful Hill Country State Natural Area.
The rules are simple:
• Meet at park headquarters.
• Dress in layers for weather
• Bring water, snacks and a camera
Children 12 and under are admitted to the park free. Regular entry fee apply for adults - $3 for senior 65 years and above with identification and $6 for everyone else. An annual pass waives fees for everyone in one vehicle.
