Greg Parker, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County, was recognized in the Southwest Area of Boys & Girls Clubs of America with the distinction of Rookie of the Year and Executive of the Year. Parker came to Bandera in April 2013 as the Executive Director and has taken the organization to new levels. Most notably, Parker led the organization in opening a school site at Alkek Elementary, adding to the existing school site at Hill Country Elementary, leaving the facility on Maple Street for middle- and high-schoolers. With this change and program improvements, daily attendance has increased almost 35 percent.
