Schott wins state essay contest
Bandera Middle School eighth grader Miranda Schott placed first in the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation District Essay competition.
This year's essay topic was "How soil and water conservation improves water quality."
Schott's essay won first in local competition and then advanced to the regional contest where she earned a first place plaque presented at the Regional Awards Banquet.
As the state winner, Schott will be invited to read her essay and receive another plaque at the State Soil and Water Conservation District meeting in Galveston in October.
She is the daughter of Pam and Randy Schott of Lakehills.
