Schott competes in State Junior High Rodeo competition
Special to the Courier
Bandera Middle School eighth grader Miranda Schott advanced to the state rodeo finals in the Texas Junior High Rodeo Association State Rodeo in Gonzales May 24 - 31. Schott competed in the pole bending competition riding her horse, Martini. She is an event leader with 39 points and her best time is 21.3 seconds.
Schott says she really enjoys pole bending because she likes the elements of speed and competition. Pole bending is a timed event that features a horse and one mounted rider, running a weaving or serpentine path around six poles arranged in a line.
Her strategy for the state rodeo? "I plan to do my best and get to the National Finals," she said. Schott is the daughter of Randy and Pam Schott of Lakehills.
