BHS National Honor Society induction

On Monday, April 21, Bandera High School Mary Welch Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted new members and welcomed new officers for the 2014-2015 school year. Senior Ethan Greven welcomed the crowd and senior Brett Dusek gave the invocation. President Jonathan Raitz narrated the program.
Senior officers lit the candles representing the core values of NHS: Scholarship, Kelly Harris; Service, Ashley Collett; Leadership, Cassie Henk; Character, Maverick Hicks; and Candle Analogy, Austen Hornung. Kelly Harris led the Pledge of the Candidates.
The candidates were presented and received their pin from Principal Gary Bitzkie. Seniors were presented with their tassles for graduation, and juniors received their patch.
New officers were introduced by Ginger Postert, sponsor. Postert also named two students, Jonathan Raitz and Kelly Harris, as Outstanding Members for the 2013-2014 year.
New members inducted seniors, Paige Fisher and Taylor Schultz; juniors, Rachel Barker, Samuel Gostomski, Tyler Hutzler, Jarrett Lyle, Britney Platt, Zachary Shaps and Laurynn Winters; and sophomores, Katie Beauchamp, Rachel Brosz, Tryston Butler, Jacob Carrillo, Katelyn Cornwell, Dylan Degoes, Emma Degoes, Luke Degoes, Allie Denham, Jarrod Elizondo, Caleb Evans, Andrea Felice, Laycee Gibson, Kristen Grothues, Kaylee Hornung, Madeline Johanson, Brendan Keane, Elizabeth Kennedy, Erin Kuykendall, Caitlyn Lenihan, Kalie Mansfield, Bailey Martin, Patricia McCourt, JT Milner, Seva Nix, Krystian Osbourn, Elizabeth Powers, Connor Randle, Catherine Ringel, Marleigh Thompson, Baileigh Toenes, Kenia Valadez, Aubree Wheeler, Jacob Williams and Mercy Yermo.
Officers for the 2014-2015 School year are President Corey Jennings, Vice President Kate Martin, Secretary Katelyn Randolph, Treasurer Kyle Bauml, Historian Shay McMullan and Parliamentarian Meghan Salley.
