Fashion show celebrates famed historical women & others

Texas Hill Country women will portray famous women in history at a fashion fundraiser sponsored by the Texas Democratic Women Hill Country Chapter. The public is invited to attend the "From High-Tops To Tennies" fashion show and luncheon, which begins at 11 am, Wednesday, April 30, at the Inn of the Hills Conference Center in Kerrville.
Hill Country women will dress in period fashions to portray historical women role models ranging from Abigail Adams, Susan B. Anthony, Margaret Sanger, Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks, Lady Bird Johnson and Ann Richards to today's Democratic Party stars, Hillary Clinton, Leticia Van de Putte and gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis. Proceeds will benefit Texas Democratic candidates, Democratic Women scholarships and community outreach programs.
Tickets are $40 and a gourmet lunch will follow the fashion parade. Guests can play politician, too, through sponsorships that range from $100 to be a governor for the day, $50 to be a senator or $25 to be a representative.
