Medina ISD students recognized at art exhibit
Exhibits from 42 Medina ISD students, including three award-winners, are on display at the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center in Kerrville.
Ashlyn Christopher won first place in the 12th-grade division with a color pencil portrait. Hannah Hickner and Sydney Clark won honorable mentions for their color pencil drawings in the 10th-grade division.
Their pieces, as well as entries from 39 other Medina High School students will be on display through April 27 at the center, which is located at 228 Earl Garrett St.
"We had a good show. I received many positive comments on the work that our kids are doing in Medina," art teacher Oscar Martinez said.
Martinez noted that approximately 400 entries were judged for the show, which attracted participation from students throughout the Hill Country region.
Exhibitors were honored during an April 5 reception at the center.
Visitors may view the exhibits from 10 am to 4 pm, Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 1 pm to 4 pm Sundays.
