Superintendent to speak to Democratic Women
Pictured: Supt. Chris Stevenson
The ongoing programs on early education and its importance will be the subject of a program by Chris Stevenson, Superintendent of Harper ISD, the March 4 luncheon meeting of the Hill Country Texas Democratic Women. The luncheon meeting will be on Tuesday, March 4 at the Kroc Center, 201 Holdsworth Drive, Kerrville.
Registration for the meeting and buffet lunch will start at 11:15 am. The luncheon is $14 and reservations should be made by Thursday, Feb. 27, by contacting Barbara Wise at 896-6023/ email@example.com.
Stevenson, a longtime Harper secondary school campus principal, was recently named the district's new superintendent. A product of the early Stonewall Head Start, he knows well the importance of early education and how it focused his life for success. His background qualifies Stevenson to discuss the challenges of a rural education in this changing world.
Stevenson will also address Texas House Bill 5 and its effects on new education reform for high school students, as well as informing the attendees about the New Vision Program. This program is geared towards the pre-school children and their need to learn from their own discovery experiences.
The Hill Country Democratic Women invite the public to join them for this informative event.
This is a non-partisan issue important to everyone. There will be a questions and answer opportunity at the end of the presentation.
