The Bandera Jr. Bulldogs players and coaches, a community tackle football team affiliated with the Mid-Tex Youth Football League, presented their championship trophy in appreciation to Bandera ISD during the February Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, Feb. 10. The squad, composed of boys ages 11-12 from the community, won the equivalent of the league's super bowl championship. Supt. Regina Howell, back center, was presented with the trophy as the group's thank you for being allowed to use BISD's facilities. The trophy will be housed at Bandera Middle School.
This was the first year for the team to play in the league and they ended the season 7-2, having played teams from Wimberley, Marble Falls, Canyon Lake, Kingsland and Helotes. Head coach was Epi Cardenas, with assistants Jeff Raitz, Cory Hacker, Darrell Sandidge and Alex Cardenas. Players were Justin Raitz, Mason Hacker, Katon Jones, Scott Love, Tommy Cardenas, Brian Burnes, Mitchell Sandidge, Mason Musick ,Brady Boyd, Solomon MacNeil, Zach Bryant, Trapper Panell, and Ethan Geiger. Not pictured: Mason Phair, Kody Weber, Ian Short and Blake Fennell. Congratulations to these outstanding young men.
