(Editor's note: Don't ruin your eyes by squinting at the back of dog treat packages, attempting to winnow out those that have been "Made in China." Here's a safe and easy-to-make easy tidbit that will have your four-legged companions drooling. During the next couple of weeks, the Courier will provide more tasty pet treats, courtesy of SNIPSA. Don't forget to check out www.snipsa.org for lots of great pet-centric information. And, remember, NEVER feed your dogs and cats ANYTHING made in China!)

Chickn' Lovers

7 ounces chicken baby food
1/4 C. nonfat milk
1/2 C. wheat germ
Preheat oven to 350ยบ F. Pour baby food into a large mixing bowl and add nonfat milk and wheat germ. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are combined until a dough-like consistency is reached. Pinch off approximately 24 equal sized pieces of the dough and roll pieces into small balls. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely before serving. Store treats in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
