Riverside offers educational events

The Riverside Nature Center, 150 Francisco Lemos Street, Kerrville has a couple of educational events set for next week. The Second Tuesday Brown Bag Lunch & Learn will be held Jan. 14 from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm. Paul Fleming, Heart of the Hills Fisheries Science Center, will speak on Texas' state fish, the Guadalupe bass. Cost is $5 for RNC members, $8 nonmember, or free if joining RNC at the meeting.
The public is invited to enjoy time in the Native Healing Garden on Thursday, Jan. 16, from 11:30 am to 1 pm. They will learn about native medicinal herbs, then tend the garden.
Visitors are invited to bring something healthy for the potluck lunch.
This session will be led by certified herbalists Amy Coward, RN, and Sally Garrett, MS. Donations fund garden.
