Mel Tillis coming to Kerrville for two shows


Country music superstar Mel Tillis will make his inaugural appearance in Kerrville on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014. Tillis and The Statesiders will present two performances only at 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm at the Cailloux Theater, 910 Main Street.
Tillis is best known for his 36 Top Ten singles, including nine Number One hits such as "Good Woman Blues," "Coca Cola Cowboy: and "Southern Rain." A prolific songwriter, he has penned such country classics as "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town," "Detroit City," "Burning Memories," "Thoughts of a Fool" and "Honey (Open That Door)."
Tillis has also appeared in numerous television shows and feature films including "Every Which Way But Loose" with Clint Eastwood, "Cannonball Run" and "Smokey and the Bandit II."
All tickets are reserved seating, and are now on sale online at; by calling 830-792-3536; at the Cailloux Theater box office, from 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Saturday; and at the Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau, 2108 Sidney Baker. Ticket prices range from $38 to $55.
This is the opening concert of the 2014 TEXMO Star Concert Series, the first of five shows to be produced by TEXMO Entertainment, a partnership that will bring "Branson style" entertainment to the Kerrville area.
The next scheduled offering is Texas favorite Michael Martin Murphy at 7:30 pm, March 30. Other dates and artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
