Kerrville Art Club to hear glass artist

Kerrville Art Club's monthly general meeting will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center, 228 Earl Garrett Street in Kerrville. The club welcomes all visitors.
The highlight of the meeting will be a demonstration by self-taught sculptor Deb Gioia (pronounced Joy-a). Born to Italian immigrants and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Deb has earned a BA in psychology and a Master's degree in counseling. However, art was a recurring theme throughout her life, as she methodically developed her talent.
She combines various metals and stained glass to create whimsical designs. Copper, steel, and brass form the basic structures, while colorful wire, recycled items and found objects enhance the design.
Deb moved to Texas in 2004 and currently lives and creates art in the Texas Hill Country.
KAC's monthly general meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May. Membership application brochures and additional information are available at general meetings. Annual membership fee is $35.
