The Bandera County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting from 11:30 am until 1 pm, Friday, Jan. 10, at the Silver Sage Community Center, 803 Buck Creek Boulevard, in Bandera.
Brick's River Café will cater the luncheon of roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert, at the cost of $10 per person. To RSVP to Lila Ward, email mimimac@txun.net, or phone or text 210 913-1163 as soon as possible.
Guest speaker Brad Bailey, 2013 Texas Federation of Republican Women recipient of the Champion of Freedom award, peak on the "Texas Immigration Solution," which he co-founded in 2012.
At the 2012 Republican State Convention, while serving on the platform committee, Bailey co-authored the "Texas Solution" Immigration Platform Plank. This was the first time any state Republican Party had proposed a solution to the broken United States Immigration Policy.
During the 2012 Republican National Convention, Bailey and his Texas Immigration Solution secured an endorsement of a National Guest Worker Program on the National Republican Platform.
While growing up in his family's Houston-area restaurants, Bailey worked his way up from dishwasher to vice president of operations, learning the importance of hard work and southern hospitality.
He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1997, with a major in marketing and finance. Currently Bailey, his wife, Julie, and the couple's 8-year-old daughter, Brynn, live in Nassau Bay where Bailey is serving his third term on City Council.
He also serves as vice chairman of the Bay Area Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, secretary of the Board for Nassau Bay Economic Development Board of Directors and on the board of the Houston Galveston Area Council.
"This is a meeting you don't want to miss as Brad knows the struggles of small business owners and community leaders," Ward said, adding, "Everyone is invited so bring a friend, neighbor, family or co-worker."
