Speech & debate squads win Sweepstakes
The Bandera High School Speech and Debate team won sweepstakes at the Karnes City Speech and Debate Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 14.
In Poetry, Dillon McCoy won first, Cori Hecke won second place and Elizabeth Collett fourth.
Maddi Wood placed third in Prose.
Daniel Mendez and Michaela Turner placed second in Cross Examination Debate. Zachary Shaps and Jesse Zimmel placed ninth in Cross Examination Debate.
Scott Pofahl placed first in Lincoln Douglas Debate and second in Persuasive Speaking.
Royce Barnes placed second in Informative Speaking and third in Lincoln Douglas Debate.
Andy Zimmel placed fourth in Informative Speaking and was a Lincoln Douglas Debate Quarter Finalist. Elizabeth Collett placed fifth in Informative Speaking.
The BHS speech and debate team travels to Blanco to compete on Jan. 11.
