BBA presents 32nd annual Shoppers Jubilee

The Bandera Business Association is focused on making this the best Christmas season ever for our Bandera merchants. A successful 2013 Riverfest gives us the opportunity to spend advertising dollars to bring more shoppers to town. Our general fund will help us add more lighting to the courthouse and in City Park.
Held on Friday, Dec. 6, Shopper's Jubilee will begin with the traditional Christmas choirs on the courthouse lawn along with a live Nativity and the arrival of Santa. These festivities will begin at 4:45 pm and end by 6:15 pm.
We ask local businesses to open their doors until 9 pm and to offer Christmas shopping specials, refreshments, drawings or other activities to draw the shoppers into your store. We are also including a new month long marketing program to help bring customers to town.
The BBA will provide a program for Shoppers Jubilee weekend that will include all events, the names of all participating stores and a small description of what will be offered that evening. The program notes will include the information we are given.
The BBA has hired performers to sing up and down Main Street. Approximately six to eight groups of carolers will perform at set locations. We will concentrate on having the carolers in your store at least once during the evening. Merchants located on either end of Main Street with special activities will be accommodated with entertainment.
We encourage all businesses to stay open - even those not in retail sales. This is perfect time to share holiday wishes with your customers with a Christmas open house.
On Saturday, the Chamber-sponsored Christmas Parade will kickoff at 11 am. To participate in the parade, contact the Chamber at 830-796-3280.
Saturday evening, the BBA will host A Cowboy Camp Fire Christmas at City Park with a special live nativity presented by the Bandera County Christian Fellowship. Festivities will begin at 4:30 pm, with music by Duke Davis and Buckshot. The live nativity will begin at dark.
The City Park Christmas tree, along with over 100 smaller Christmas trees and Christmas scenes from local merchants, will be lit. Folks can gather 'round the campfire and chuck wagon for storytelling, hot chocolate, hot coffee and cookies. Join us for holiday fun and increased sales!
For participation information in the program, contact Genie Strickland at 830-796-4447. Merchant information must be turned in by Friday, Nov. 22, for listing in the program. And, it's also not too late to take part in the Christmas scenes on the river!!
