'Dig into Reading' now at Bandera Library
The Bandera County Public Library kicks off the summer reading program, "Dig into Reading," at 10:30 am, on Friday, June 21, with a party for children ages three through 12 years.
Children can register at the party - with a parent or guardian, of course - for the reading program then join in the fun, which includes a treasure hunt and a story by a "mystery reader."
In keeping with this summer's "Dig into Reading" program, stories and activities will center around the theme and include dinosaurs, burrowing animals and insects, rocks and caves, plants and roots and buried treasure and pirates. To earn rewards, children will be encouraged to check out books, keep a log of the books read at home and take AR tests.
"Dig into Reading" will continue for children ages three to five years from 11 am to 11:30 am, Wednesdays, from June 26 through August 7 while children ages six to 12 will meet from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, Friday mornings from June 28 to August 9.
"Join us for some reading fun!" urged a spokesman for the reading program.
