'Music from the heART' slated for Backyard Bistro
Special to the Courier
A special benefit, "Music from the heART," will take place from 4 pm to 8 pm, Sunday, June 2, at Backyard Bistro, located behind Eva Lee's Country Accents Antiques on Highway 16 South between Bandera and Pipe Creek.
Proceeds from the fundraiser are earmarked for local singer-songwriter and tireless volunteer, Art Crawford, of the musical duo, "Art and Lisa."
"Art & Lisa have donated much time and energy for countless community events," Lee said. "This is our opportunity to give something back to them. All proceeds will benefit Art & Lisa's 'healin' time'."
Non-stop musical entertainment will include Almost Patsy Cline, Hollin McKay, John Inmon, Johnny Miller, the Gibson Sisters, Lee Winright and Peter Lovett - many of whom are members of the Bandera Music History Projects Music Hall of Fame. A rousing jam session with surprise musicians and singers is also on tap.
Mike Kenneson and Harry Harris will conduct the live auction that's packed with plenty of great merchandise. Other activities include a silent auction, raffle and an old-fashioned cakewalk. During this family-friendly fundraiser, the kiddos will enjoy an enclosed play area, face painting and photos with Wilbur the Pig. This will be a family-friendly event.
Food, provided by Backyard Bistro, will include a choice of Memphis Grilled Chicken or Beef Fajitas Kabobs with Rice and Beans and homemade Guacamole, along with homemade Salsa, Chips and Tortillas.
Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
Admission to the benefit is $15 per person.
Backyard Bistro is located at 167 Panther Ridge in Pipe Creek.
Telephone is 830-535-4094.
