Esther Benedict - 'making life beautiful'

To some, the name Esther Benedict is a new or foreign sound in their ears, but not to those in the Hill Country, where her name is more than familiar.
Benedict is, in fact, a nationally known sculptor, and the Bandera County Public Library and the Wild Hog Explosion proudly hails her as the official artist for their trophies. For the last nine years, Benedict has produced unique works of art for the library fundraiser.
She works her magic with steel, bronze and stainless steel, and has won many awards, including the Ellen Noel Art Show in Odessa three times, as well as, the People's Choice Award at Ellen Noel twice. Her work has also won her an award in the sculpture category at the Texas Arts and Crafts show in Kerrville.
Additionally, Benedict's art has been displayed in galleries across the country, including the Karen Newby Gallery in Tubac, Arizona.
Her impressive rearing horse also tops the roof of the Western Trail Antiques Mall in Bandera. Benedict also created the eight-feet tall cowboy boots located at the Bandera County Convention and Visitor Center on Highway 16. Eventually, the boots will become an integral part of a welcome sign planned for the City of Bandera.
Benedict's other special niches include creating custom sculpture, wall art, awards and signs. Examples are available at for sculpture, and for metal wall art, furniture and custom metal art pieces like the awards for the Wild Hog Explosion Awards. Heartwarming, handmade mini sculptures for gift items can be viewed at
Benedict's wall art is also available at the Western Trail Antique mall. With her artwork priced for everyone, her motto is "Making Life Beautiful with Sculpture."
The Bandera County Library welcomes everyone to the Wild Hog Explosion on Saturday, March 16, to see Benedict's one-of-a-kind works of art, and cheer on those lucky enough to take one home.
