2012-09-20-- Bandera Business Association -- Sales taxes reflect positive economy

Everyone knows the economy is somewhat down and it seems to be touching everyone in one in someway.
The local buzz around town is how the economy is affecting our stores.
The Bandera Business Association thought it might be interesting to see how Bandera is holding up against other Hill Country towns and or major tourist communities.
Actually, we are not doing too badly!
Sales tax reports are the best indication because the tax is, of course, a direct reflection on money spent in our community. Since sales tax is collected monthly and is paid by most businesses quarterly, it is always some months before we can see the real record.
The most current record was for the month of July and the numbers were just released on Sept. 12, so take a look and see that Bandera is doing pretty good compared to other cities our size and much better that some major tourist attractions.
