Business, fun & crime
BARBECUE AT CAMP VERDE
AD McBryde writes the New Era that a big barbecue will be given at Camp Verde on Saturday, August 4, and says, "Tell everybody to come." The hospitality of the Camp Verde folks has no equal this side of frontier days, and those who attend the big doin's on August 4 are going to be well entertained. Brahma calf roping, steer riding, racing and other sports, and a fine barbecue dinner, will feature the day's program.
TAKES HUMBLE AGENCY
Frank H. Mansfield has been appointed distributor here for Humble gasoline and oils for this region. Rhea Mansfield will have charge of the filling station at the Mansfield Chevrolet Company's establishment. The firm will be known as Mansfield & Mansfield. The opening of an Humble station here will be welcomed by users of that company's excellent products.
FORD STOLEN
Last Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Adamson went to San Antonio to meet Mrs. Will Pue and children who were returning from a visit to relatives at Hico. Virgil parked his Ford roadster on the street near the bus depot, and he and his wife went into the depot. When they came out the car was gone - stolen supposedly by two men who were loitering nearby. At last accounts the car had not been recovered.
