Ribbon cutting kicks off fundraising

Contributed

Members of the Polly Texas Pioneer Association, along with representatives from the Bandera County Chamber of Commerce, kicked off fundraising efforts with a ribbon cutting at Polly's Chapel on Monday, June 18.

The charming chapel is located approximately 8.5 miles northeast of Bandera.

The $50,000 goal has been nearly halfway met, according to Rudy Rodriguez, association vice chairman.

The funds will be used to restore the windows and doors of the 1880s chapel.

Association Chairman "Aunt" Flo Hopkins cut the ribbon, surrounded by participants that included, in no particular order, Jo McCarley, Deb McWilliams, Sharon Treece, Albert Phillip Sierra, Becky Sierra, Albert Sierra, Grace Ayala, Anna Lunoff, Eleanora Dugosh Goodley, Bob Reeves, Susan Jenkins, Precinct 1 Commissioner Bruce Eliker, Roy Dugosh, Ramon Avila and Rudy Rodriguez.
