Helping with New Year resolutions

Amy Hawley

If you want to get into shape and eat healthier in 2016, staff and volunteers with the Silver Sage Community Center, 803 Buck Creek Boulevard can help you with your New Year's resolutions!
Four different exercise programs are offered to help you get back into shape, ranging from fast-paced, energetic Zumba to a slower pace exercising to videos.
Geared to people of all ages and physical levels, video exercising is a good program for those who have had replacement surgeries and need to get tone and extension back. Participants go at their own pace without pressure to go "all out!"
In between these two levels, there is also yoga and an exercise room. Yoga is very popular and has been led by Willie for a long time. A very experienced instructor, he ensures that each class participant does stretches at a comfortable level for them.
Open from 8 am to 3:30 pm each weekday, the exercise room is equipped with treadmills, stationary bicycles and a reciprocal bike.
If eating healthier is another resolution, then meals that incorporate many fresh ingredients are perfect. Come have lunch with us at the Silver Sage and see what everyone is talking about. To make reservations for lunch, call before 9:30 am, ensuring there's sufficient food for everyone! Telephone is 830-796-4969.
