The January Cowboy Capital Opry, held Tuesday, Jan. 7, was another big success! New performer Brooke Graham did a spectacular job with her beautiful voice and original songs that were heartfelt and unique. And Justin Aaron is always a crowd favorite.
We want to take this time to thank those who attend the Opry each month. We so appreciate those who make reservations and attend the event. Some have been attending since the very first Opry!
Very often, those who attend for the first time are so impressed that they make reservations for the next month's event.
To attend February's Opry on Tuesday, Feb. 4, reserved seats are advised. Reserved seats are $5 each with an admission at the door of $5. For $10 you get a spectacular show from entertainers who volunteer to support the Meals On Wheels program. Admission to concerts of this caliber are at least $20!
For those who want to make this a dinner and show event, a light supper is available for the first 50 people. The meal is $4 with a drink for $1. For reservations, come by Silver Sage Community Center office, 803 Buck Creek Boulevard, or call 830-796-4969. All reservations must be paid for immediately. We hope to see you at the February Opry!
A four-hour AARP Smart Driver Course will be held from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm, Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at the Silver Sage. Although designed for seniors in the City of Bandera and surrounding areas, this course does not fulfill requirements for court ordered defensive driving.
Participants will learn defensive driving techniques, proven safety strategies and new traffic laws and rules of the road. Cost for the course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. To sign up and register, call 830-796-4969.
The 2014 Black and Red Ball will take place Saturday, Feb. 15, at The Farm Country Club on FM 2828 with dance music by the Darrell McCall Band.
Tickets are the same price as last year - $45 per person or $320 for a table of eight. This event benefits Meals On Wheels in Bandera County and Silver Sage Community Center. Call 830-796-4969 for more information and to purchase tickets.
