Honoring our many friends

Judith Pannebaker

Bandera County Helping Hand is so thankful for our wonderful neighbors and friends who generously supported us throughout 2012.
Our gratitude goes to our absolutely necessary church partners: Bandera United Methodist, Medina United Methodist, Lakehills United Methodist, Christ Chapel, First Baptist of Bandera, Grace Lutheran, First Baptist of Pipe Creek, Community of Christ, St. Christopher's Episcopal, Hill Country Chapel, Chapel Ministry and Lakehills Baptist.
Our thanks also go to the Masonic Lodge, Bandera United Methodist Women, Lakehills United Methodist Women, Knights of Columbus, Bandera United Methodist Cutups and Woodmen of the World.
We appreciate the hard work of our board members, our many volunteers, and our staff, Center Director Jesse Parks and her Assistant Director Laura White.
We are very grateful for all the other organizations and individuals who donated. We could not do what we do without you.
Because of you, we were able to aid 858 families in 2012. That meant feeding 2,101 individuals. We gave clothes to 336 people, provided school supplies to 117 children, and got vision exams and glasses for two children.
We assisted 88 families with utilities, helped 15 families with medical prescriptions and made 313 referrals.
We provided Thanksgiving meals to 49 families, feeding 198 individuals.
Through the Salvation Army, we gave 42 gasoline vouchers, kept the power on for 95 people, and provided six motel vouchers.
Partnering with the Spirit of Christmas Presents, we fed 70 families and gave 192 children toys for Christmas.
You gave over $39,000 in cash and food during the Feinstein Hunger Challenge.
You put over $12,000 in the Salvation Army red kettles.
We sent 12 children to a Christian summer camp.
Thank you all. May God bless you abundantly.
We still need warm clothing, blankets and heaters.
