Silver Sage Corral

Amy Hawley

We are all getting so excited here at Silver Sage Community Center. In only four weeks one of the most elegant, stunning and pleasurable events of the year will occur in Bandera County - and, you're all invited!
Black & Red Ball
Our annual sweetheart party, the Black and Red Ball, is slated for Saturday, Feb. 16 at The Farm Country Club on FM 2828. The gala begins with appetizers and camaraderie at 6 pm, followed by a scrumptious dinner at 7 pm. Darrell McCall and his band will provide dancing from 8 pm though 11 pm and a live auction begins at 9 pm.
Tickets for the ball are only $45 per person or $320 for a table of eight and are available at the Silver Sage or The Gunslinger. Please make plans now as the tickets will go fast.
The Black and Red Ball is the biggest fundraiser for Bandera County's Meals on Wheels program. Not only will you have a delightful evening, but you'll also help us offer good, nutritious meals to some of our most valued citizens. Hope to see you there!
Exercise classes
Did you put on a few pounds during the holidays? Maybe you're worried that you won't be able to get in those fancy duds for the Black and Red Ball, and time is running out. Fear not - Silver Sage can assist you.
Yoga and exercise classes take place at 10 am, Monday mornings and Zumba classes are available at 6 pm every Monday, Tuesday - except the second Tuesday of the month - and Thursday, also in the great room. Video-led exercising occurs in the great room as well at 8 am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So, join in, shed a few pounds, look sleek and gorgeous and feel fit and ready to really cut a rug at the ball.
42 Tourney
Competitors were in rare form at last week's exciting 42 Tournament. First place winners were Billy Brown and Helen Hicks - with and Rita Young and Barbara Bartkoviak close behind them. Congratulations to everyone! The tourney takes place on the second Thursday of each month. Those interested in the game of 42 are invited to play every Thursday and on tournament day.
Price changes
With the New Year, we have changed the pricing of meals here at Silver Sage. For anyone 60 years of age or older, the meal now costs $5. For everyone else, meals are $6 - still good prices for a well-balanced, nutritious meal, which includes a dessert and drink. To make a reservation, call 830-796-4969 before 9 am the day to plan to dine with us.
Just for you: "Life is a journey. Roll down the window and enjoy the breeze."
And, we hope you enjoyed the blessing of the beautiful rains we have received!
