It should have been no surprise to anyone who reads newspapers that the verdict in the intoxication manslaughter trial of John Heinen was not guilty.

Once again, my preference for living in rural small town America has been affirmed.

After reading the story “Confederate Flags at High School Concern Parents” from the Nov. 13 issue of the Bandera County Courier, I would just like to say three cheers to the Bandera school system for putting a stop to this if the students were using the Confederate Battle Flag as a symbol of hate.

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, we were on our way to Bandera from Lakehills for dinner. While we were still on 1283, we collided with a deer.

I was fascinated to read in the Courier that the county commissioners, especially Doug King, have now pledged humane euthaniasia for homeless animals

The actions of the Bandera Police Chief Jim Eigner in John Heinen’s intoxication manslaughter case and the resulting indictment of the chief should have come as no surprise to anyone.

Regarding the debate about the display of the Confederate flag, one should remember the Swastika was a symbol used for thousands of years by Native Americans and Asians in expressing their religious feelings.

I recently had to have a medical procedure done and discovered m my doctor is affiliated with one of the finest hospitals I have ever had the pleasure of being involved with.

Win, draw or lose, now is the time for political signs to be gone from yards or places of business. If anyone must have an example of personal preference on display, put up a sign about the weather.
